The Zoo!

I Promise I won't blog about the Zoo every single time!
G.K. and I needed to go see all the animals at the zoo! We had so much fun. We were eating lunch and a Turkey came up to us! (Really funny bc Patrick has been turkey hunting all month!) We had to see how we measured up to the apes! Garrison didn't love the bronze statue~ When we saw the Spyder Monkeys he looked at them and said "Dada"! Total coincidence I know but I had to laugh at that one. He was pretty tuckered out about half way through the zoo so I just walked him so he could get a good nap. As we were leaving he threw a temper tantrum about getting in his car seat. I'm sure it won't be the last!

Memorial Weekend Stay-Cation

We had such a fun Memorial Day weekend. It didn't all go quite as we planned it but we had a lot of fun! On Friday evening we were planning on going to the Jordan Walkway with Jenn & Brandon. Patrick and Brandon couldn't get away from work so Aunt Michelle came over with McKell and we ate some lollipops thanks to The Peppermint Place~ G.K. was so sweet to share his sticky sucker with Aunt Shell! We did go for a short bike ride but G.K. was screaming in the bike trailer. It was past his bed time and we took the sucker away.

On Saturday I went for a run with Dave up to City Creek Canyon, we took the trail and I forgot how much I liked it. My Mom came too and she walked around the Capitol. It was such a beautiful morning! I will learn to take my camera. In the afternoon we went to play tennis at the Middle School. I really suck, Jenn has only played a couple of times and she is really good. Don't let her fool you! It started to rain and G.K. was tired of being in the Pack 'n Play so Jenn and I played with him.. i.e we took pictures of him! On Saturday night Patrick and I took G.K. to Won Won Wok for some sushi~

On Sunday we went to church but we only made it for sacrement meeting, we went home and had a relaxing afternoon. I harvested some Strawberries! The first of the season! Brandon and Jenn came over because we wanted to do a test run camping with G.K. We had planned to set up the tents in the back yard and see how well it went. We had hot dogs and hamburgers and Jenn brought some yummy dips w/ chips. We were all stuffedwhen it started pouring rain! G.K. was so tired so we just put him in his bed. It did clear up when we were eating our S'Mores over the barbeque-er. We contemplated setting up the tents and grabbing G.K. but I think we were all too tired for that. So between the dogs being restless all night and the fridge making noises, no one got any sleep, we should have set up the tents!  I guess we did test out camping: eating way too much and not getting any sleep, but at leat G.K. got a good nights sleep.

Then since Jenn & Brandon just couldn't get enough of us we decided to go to Park City for some shopping! We went to Main street for Lunch and remembered why we don't shop there. Our lunch was $40 and it wasn't any good! So we went to the Outlets where I love to shop. They had some really great sales. We didn't need anything but it was sure fun to go shopping!

Cruisin'

G.K. is getting so big so fast! I wish he would slow down. Patrick took him outside for a walk. He walked so far, his big toe was bleeding. Patrick made him stop but he was really mad so I got him some socks and he walked  quite a bit more. He loves walking. He gets the biggest smile and is just beaming. Sorry the video is sideways and there is no sound! I wasn't thinking when I was getting this!

Donna, Dogs, Dumb Dumb, and Dirt!

Donna
It has been so much fun having my Grandma around. We convinced her to stay a few more days and it was so nice. I think I really enjoyed her company more than anything. She is such an amazing woman and so much fun to be around. I am so grateful that I had the time to spend with her. We went shopping a couple of times, we drove up to see the temple in Draper but were more blown away with the castles that were being built right next door. They made the Temple look so simple and beautiful. It put it in a different perspective. G.K. loved his Great Grandma. She watched him for me a few times so I could go grocery shopping and running! Grandma You are the Best!
Dogs
Yogi was really sweet to invite D'Ohgee to the dog park last Friday. I don't think we went one time last year. D'Ohgee has really needed to get out. She is shedding really bad and she is in heat so needless to say she has spent a lot of time outside. I love this dog park, all the dogs can run around but ther is somewhere to go. There is a little pond at the end but we didn't want the dogs getting to crazy because the water was really high. D'Ohgee loves to jump after the splashing water, last time we were here Patrick had to jump in and save her. We had a blast as always! Thanks Yogi!
Dumb Dumb
On Saturday we went to the Car Show at Thanksgiving Point because my friend Jeremy from E.W.S had his car in it. I love Car shows, Patrick thinks they are a little white trash but I like them more than the Auto Shows because you can see most of those cars anytime. These cars are so unique. We saw a really ornate hearst, boats, Shelby Cobras, the new Camaro, and my favorite the Ford Woody! The people watching isn't half bad either.  We gave G.K. a dumb dumb and he went crazy over that thing. He had drool half way down his shirt. Here he is chowin' down!
Dirt!
After the car show we went to Okubo's and got some plants. I love haveing a garden and apparently Garrison does too. He was helping us with the weeds and we couldn't stop him because our hands were covered in just as much dirt as his mouth. He is such a good helper!

On Saturday Tom, Yadi, Juli, Dave and I went for a run up City Creek Canyon. It was such a pretty morning and it felt so nice to run without the jogging stroller. Thanks Mom for watching G.K. while we were out! My Dad took some pictures and he walked quite a ways. On Saturday evening we went to a park in layton to take pictures since so many people were in town. It was a lot of fun, all the kids were really good. The ducks were fun to feed and there were a lot of little ducklings. It got really cold and we had to leave before we wanted to.

On Sunday Juli and Dave ran the Millcreek trail and my Uncle John and I hiked it. It was so pretty! It was nice to walk it, there is a lot that you miss when you run it. I didn't take my camera but my uncle did. I will have to get a pic from him. We had a really yummy dutch oven lunch and it was nice to have everyone together. G.K. wouldn't take a nap all day, there was just too much going on. Some of us went for a walk to Silver Mesa and played on the playgrounds. It was a lot of fun. When we got home Jenn and Brandon came over and we roasted marshmallows and ate S'mores. It was such a fun Mother's Day. I am so grateful for the mother's in our lives. I think Patrick and I have the Best Mother's in the whole world! Thanks for all you do for us!

Grandma's Stallions

My Grandma really likes the Lipizzaner Stallions. I saw their "stables" in Austria when I went a couple of years ago. It's not really a stable it's more of a castle. But for my Grandma's Birthday we all went to see them with her. They were really cool to see in person. I guess they have the dresage in the Olympics but I've never seen it before. It was neat to see the horses "dance" D'Ohgee use to run crooked and it kinda reminded me of that! They could dance better than I ever could. My favorite part was when they showed how they would use the horses in battle by kicking or standing. They taught they horses to do so many things, I think those horses have had more education than I have had! They had a Spanish  song and dance that was really cool too. It was fun! I enjoyed it.

Gardner Village

My Mom arranged for my Grandma to come out for her 89th birthday and to stay for Mother's day! My Uncle John was the key to get her here. I had never met my Uncle before so I have had a really good time getting to know him a little bit. He is very cool, even though he doesn't like tomatoes.. I'm still not sure we are related! My Grandma is such an amazing woman. We went to have dinner at Archibald's at Gardner Village. It was very good. Before they got there I took some quick pictures of G.K. I just love Gardner Village. After we ate we went into the candy store and my Grandma got some raisin rum fudge, she is a woman after my own heart!

Helper!

G.K. has been such a big helper lately! I made some jam and he helped me eat the strawberries. When I do the dishes he helps by pulling the rack out and when I whip up some cream he is there to clean off the beaters for me! I just can't believe how big he is getting. He is growing up so fast. I just love my happy boy!

A Wild Week!

This last week has been so fun! On Saturday night Jenn and I won tickets to Wicked! I really didn't think we were going to. There were so many people there. It would take about 2 hours each trip and it was the 9th time trying. But it was SO worth it. Patrick and Brandon were such troopers to come and help us win! They have been so supportive (even though they think we are totally crazy!). Patrick's Mom was so sweet to watch G.K. for us. They went up to see Grandma Pat! Patrick and Brandon had a really good time at the Sky Box at Gateway. You know you are getting old when you get sore from playing air hockey!

On Wednesday night we went to a Showcase Concert at the U. Patrick works for Peterson Homes and the owner is Leon Peterson, he is a huge supporter of the School of Music at the U of U. He was the d.j. and did a really good job. All the music was beautiful! My favorite was probably the pianists because it was so much fun to watch all the emotion that the artist shows. I love listening to classical music but it is nothing like watching it. To see how it makes them happy and sad was really cool. Patrick really liked the orchestra performances and I could totally see why. They had a student conductor and he was so entertaining to watch. There was a quote that I really liked, "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." ~Plato

Yesterday we went to Jenn and Brandon's. I know shocking!! Jenn and I went to Gardner Village to do some shopping and Patrick and Brandon worked a little. Then we went to dinner at Winger's because we haven't been there in a long time. We went back to the Muir's house and were going to play some dominoes but The 'Burbs was on so we watched that. It was so fun! We just love hanging out with those guys!!

And to top off this past week. Our Wal*Mart has opened!! It has already changed my life.
