Tip-Toe

Last week Lyndsey, Chaye, & I had planned on taking the boys to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point to take some pictures. Due to the typical Utah spring, we had to postpone to this week. We went on Monday and I am so glad we did, it was such a nice day! The sun was a little bright for taking pictures but I didn't mind (it's not like GK would sit still anyway!). We had a blast. We were all exhausted after too!

Here is some proof that Gage and Benton were there too! It was so much fun watching Gage and GK play. They are so close in age, we need to play more often. It was so hard to get the boys to do what we wanted them to do. I just hope Gk isn't scarred too much!

Got Chicken?

On Saturday we had a super busy day! We were running around all day like a chicken with it's head cut off. We started building a chicken coup with Patrick's friend Mike's help. Patrick had to work too. We even went to Kentucky Fried Chicken with Brandon & Jenn, and then bought some chickens too! I really haven't been feeling the whole chicken thing but Patrick & GK Love them. GK wouldn't let go of the box when we were driving home. They are living in the garage right now because they are pretty stinky and loud but they are a lot of fun. I need to get a video of GK saying "chickies" It is so cute!

Getting Girly!

I don't have a lot of accessories and I don't think that I am a really girly girl. So I am a little overwhelmed at having a girl. Thank Heavens for Jenn. She isn't really girly either but she helps me out a lot. (It takes a village ya know!) She always has the cutest jewelry and hair-styles! Well she has a really cute headband flower that we decided to try and duplicate for our craft night! It was a lot of fun, we went to a lot of stores to find really cute zippers.. We couldn't find any, we still had a blast in the stores though! We came home really tired and my Mother-in-law saved the day! We were totally re-energized about the whole thing. It was a way fun night, and I have actually worn mine a few times! Thanks Jenn!

snakes & planes

This weekend we wanted to see the airplanes take off! so we went up to the airport to get a closer view.. Well we didn't get really close but we had fun playing around an empty parking lot.
Then we decided we were downtown so we might as well go to the zoo. Patrick hadn't been in about 6 or 7 years! GK was so hungry (see pic. below) then he was so tired he couldn't walk and I didn't have a stroller in the car. Anyway it was a short trip, but sometimes those are the best!
We love our Daddy!

Two-Lips!

Last weekend Brandon and Patrick planned a date! It was so sweet, they had these big plans of going to Thanksgiving Point to ride segways. They invited their friend Mike and his wife Abby to come along. I love it when the guys plan dates, they are always so much fun! Well they didn't know that the Tulip festival was going on, and that it was opening weekend. We told them and we decided to to give it a try anyway. Well they only have 4 segways and it was going to be a long wait for them so we decided (to Brandon's chagrin) to just walk around the tulip festival. Thank heavens they had candied nuts and apple beer and kettle corn to get the guys through it!

We had our snacks and watched the waterfall. It was really a gorgeous day! There was a bag-piper that Jenn and I had to get our picture with! We kept seeing him all throughout the park after. The high-lite of the day for Patrick was when a bride-to-be was walking down the hill had her dress lifted So high you could see the tops of her thigh-highs!
Patrick, Mike, and Brandon were all lamenting on the segways while Jenn, Abby, and I the tulips.
After we went to Texas Road house for some delicious dinner. It was a great day! We are so lucky to have such fun men!

Family Fun!

Last Sunday, Patrick was missing his family, so he invited everyone over for a hot dog and chicken roast! It was really fun to have everyone over. It was really last minute but sometimes those are the best! We had to roast some marshmallows and have S'mores too! It was Benton's first time cooking his own marshmallow! He is getting SO big.
Once we were totally stuffed we went to fly some kites at the park. It was a really windy day, we made a game of letting go of the kite and seeing who could catch the handle. GK even wanted to play but he couldn't quite keep up yet. I think everyone slept really good that night! Thanks everyone for coming over. We sure missed Jason & Jenn's family though.

Cache Valley!

After Easter, I realized how much I have missed spending time with my sister and her kids. They are such a neat family. I don't know how crazy life will be after this baby so I decided to seize the moment and go up to Logan to spend some time with them. It was so nice, we were able to just hang out. I got to see Wendi's office and the new house they are looking at (it is gorgeous!!) we went for a few walks. GK Loved spending time with his cousins, even though they are so much older than he is. We finished off the trip by going to the cheese factory, the pepperidge farms factory and the fat boy factory making Wendi really late for her rehearsal, but hey, we were being spontaneous!

Happy Easter

Easter was so much fun. The Easter bunny brought Gk a basketball hoop! He was so excited when he saw it. We also got The Blindside, some candy, some root beer, bubbles and more candy!
We went to Jenn & Brandon's house for an Easter brunch. We ate SO much food. Being pregnant I shouldn't be involved in the menu, everything sounds so yummy! We had a lot of fun. We played a lot and ate a lot. We went to the park and ruined Brandon's kite he got from the Easter bunny ~ Sorry~ GK doesn't know how to hold on very well! It was sure fun when it lasted though!
After we went to my Mom & Dad's house and took a nap. We were so tired! Wendi's family came over and it was so good to see them! They hadn't seen GK in a long time. I hadn't seen them since last September, I think! I hope we can see them more often. Gk was so sweet playing the piano with my Mom. She would play and he would sing along.
My parents made a huge delicious dinner, I think I am still full. GK just couldn't get enough of his cousins. He would drag them into the laundry room and push all the buttons while they kept it from actually turning on. Braden was so patient with GK, it was so cute to see them playing together. We had such a fun Easter, it was nice to get home and have some time to relax.

Easter Egg Hunts

I really wanted to take GK on an Easter egg hunt this year, mostly to see if he can hold his own. Our Smith's had one but we just missed it. So we went to Bluffdale City, the Lion's Club was putting one on. It was Super cold but it was a fun place for an easter egg hunt. Patrick had never been to an easter egg hunt like this before, he always just went to his Aunt Drylee's house. I was so glad he went! (I needed him to take pictures;>) When they started we ran to where there were a few and grabbed them and left. GK and I are just getting over colds and it was freezing.
And we knew that there was going to be another Easter egg hunt at Aunt Shell's house that night. GK got so much candy and some money too! Patrick hid and egg that nobody could find. He actually buried it and less than an inch of it was showing. It was a lot of fun. We also celebrated Lyndsey's birthday, but I didn't get a single picture of her... Sorry Lyndsey. We did go to Rod Works for their 50% off one item sale. We all got some good stuff but we barely all made it home in one trip.
GK is getting so big and more and more fun every day! He just loves all of his cousins!

Jabba-what!

Lyndsey's birthday is coming up and she surprised us with tickets to The jabbawockeez. It was so much fun! They didn't allow cameras and I was really bummed, mostly because you should have seen what the kids are wearing these days. ( I am SO not hip, and I didn't realize how bad I was until this weekend!) I could people watch for hours. The place was packed and they put on a really good show. If you've never seen them you should check them out on You tube.
After we went to The CheeseCake Factory for dinner. It was SO good. We were all starving too. Nobody really wanted to go home (except Lyndsey but it isn't like it was her actual birthday!) so we went to the soccer game up in Woods Cross. It was the funnest game yet! They were up 8 to 2 and they all really wanted Patrick to score a goal. Every time someone got the ball they would pass it to Patrick and hope that he would score. He came SO close so many times. He said when he does score a goal he will take off his shirt and do a lap around the soccer field.
Oh, and speaking of people watching, the soccer games are such a good place too!

~SpRiNg~

A little while ago we took D'Ohgee and Yogi for a walk on the Jordan Walkway. It was such a nice day and we all needed to go out and enjoy it. Well, the Jordan Walkway is pretty much tore up in just about every direction you go out here. They are preparing for a bunch of new roads (YAY!!), but it's a bummer for the walkway. We got a little ways, then we saw a nice park to play and have lunch. I just love picnics. Brandon, GK, and Patrick had a blast playing soccer. Jenn and I tried to get some sun on our legs.
Then a few days later we dyed some easter eggs. It was such a mess! I don't know if we will do this again for a while. Then we tried to make some sugar cookies and they were really scary, but they still tasted yummy.. All well. Better luck next time!
