So Big!

Gk is getting so big. Every day I am amazed at the words he will say or how he acts. He is really starting to be nice and soft and I hope it stays through all the transitions coming his way! I am so excited for the new baby, but I am going to miss the one on one time I'm having with my little man. He is just over 22 months and he still loves balls (any kind!) he gets really mad if the ball doesn't do what he wants. He is such a good eater. He says please, but not thank you. Loves strawberries and anything sweet especially ice cream. He loves his Daddy but is a Momma's boy. His best friend is D'Ohgee. He will bring me a book, let me read it, put it back and get a new one. His favorite one right now is Are You My Mother he likes the Snort! He loves animals and making animal sounds. I just love him so much. He will be such a good big brother, I can't wait to see how much he grows.

birthdays!

It seems like it's been a while since we've had a birthday party. But maybe it's just been a while since I've taken pictures at one.
Aunt Shell's house is so much fun. She has kittens, dogs, snakes, birds, and kids!! Gk never wants to leave. He held a bird for a second, but it freaked him out. He really liked it, until he saw a ball! I just love this little boy.

Tassels... Not what you're thinking Patrick!

This last Thursday Lyndsey and I loaded up 3 boys and headed to Wyoming. On the way up we decided to stop in Park City and do just a little shopping. Well we meant to do a little, but it turned out to be a lot (for 3 boys anyway!) but we got some killer deals! We ate at Cafe Rio and headed up to Star Valley. The boys did really good, by Cokeville we needed to stretch out a little so we stopped at a park to play.
After shopping and driving we went to a graduation ceremony... Not such a good idea! GK was so sick of sitting, he really just wanted to play. We were sitting right by a basketball hoop and it was all he could focus on. We went out in the hall to run around and cool off because it was warm in the gym. When we went back in to watch C'aira get her diploma GK hucked a car at a kid 8 rows in front of us, then he fell head first off the bleacher seat and a girl just caught him before he went down again. We spent the rest of the time in the hallway!
These boys are so much fun. They love to get their picture taken sometimes... They are such good friends.
After the ceremony we took some pictures, I was still chasing GK around so Jason and Roger (C'aira's grandpa) took some pictures for me.
We are so happy and proud of C'aira. She is moving to Cache Valley (YAY) to go to Utah State so hopefully we will get to take her out to dinner and see her a little bit more.

Motherhood = Gross

There are a lot things I have learned about being a Mom. First off, don't drink the water when it is bad. I need to find a way to stop GK from drinking the bath water. But recently I have experienced a lot of mess. The spitting up never bothered me much. Toys are fun to put away, because they are fun to watch Gk get them out. Two days ago Gk dumped out an entire (travel size) bottle of baby powder onto the couch.
But yesterday my poor little boy had diarrhea and threw up for the first time. I have worried about this for a long time. I don't know how to clean that up!~ But I was surprised with how calm I was, I really didn't want to scare the poor boy. I hate throwing up and I know it isn't fun. Well it has continued, he has thrown up 3 times today and still has really runny diarrhea (I know is there any other kind!) A few things I am grateful for while I have been experiencing this is:
1. That I can be home with GK. I love every second even when it is gross.
2. I am glad that I usually wear my hair in a bun (really came in handy when GK threw up down my back this morning).
&
3. I am SO happy we have a wood floor in GK's room. Clean up is a lot easier.
But I think the grossest thing comes from my first baby! D'Ohgee tries to help me clean up the mess. So I get it cleaned up as fast as I can. I still don't know how you would get it out of carpet.
Let's hope I don't have to find out.

Lander

This past weekend my Mom, GK, and I headed to Ogden. We stopped to see my Uncle Dennis, who GK and I don't see very often. I wish we saw him more often and GK does too! GK had SO much fun playing with him. We went to the park for a minute to give Dennis a rest and to let GK stretch his legs. While we were there the rest of our party showed up, Wendi and Kate came walking over I thought they were some truant high school kids! We visited with Dennis a little more and got on the road.
On the way we stopped in Farson for some delicious ice-cream. I've always wanted to stop but they are closed or we are in too big of a hurry. I strongly recommend stopping there if you are ever in the middle of Wyoming.
We were so happy to make it to Lander! Jackson wasn't feeling great so we felt bad for intruding. Juli had taight Kaycee the "Say Say Oh Playmate" song and over the weekend she mastered it. My mom got it on video, it was really cute.
On Saturday morning Kaycee lost a tooth at breakfast, it just fell right out! We went to the park and played, it was an awesome park, it has a river and tons of toys for all different ages. It was a really warm day perfect for a walk.
I totally locked my keys in the car and just realized right before we went to lunch. My Mom and sisters had planned a baby-shower for me and a lot of the stuff was in my car! But we jsut went anyway, I was so flustered that I forgot my camera when we went to lunch. My sister Jodi set up a way cute table for us. It was so sweet! I wish we got to see her and her family more but it was a busy weekend for them too. We had some yummy pizza and salad and opened a bunch of presents. My sisters and Mom really spoiled me, they weren't supposed to do anything, they've already done too much!
After lunch we went for a ride and on a few short walks. I didn't dare go too far because it obviously wasn't "my day" and I didn't want to push my luck. That night Juli made some yummy shish-kabobs for dinner, they were really good. We had to pry GK away from the basketball hoop every time we went somewhere or had to change his bum. He was in heaven.
Sunday morning, nobody really wanted to go so we played and just relaxed until it was time to go. Kaycee and Jackson are both really good on their bikes and they showed us their tricks. GK slept almost the whole way home where he didn't sleep a wink on the way up!

Happy Mother's Day!

We have been super busy lately, but that is no excuse to not be blogging. I think I have been a little bit of a slacker with taking pictures (which in my family is unheard of). So I will do the best I can to catch up. GK is getting so big. Still obsessed with soccer and basketball he really loves books too. I made him an alphabet book but I will do a different post for that.

The other day we tried big boy underpants... they didn't work out very well. I don't think he had a clue he was peeing in them! It was fun to try though!

We absolutely can't wait for all the summer goodies to come! Fresh fruits and vegetables sound really good. I don't think we will get a garden planted this year, we had planned on it but our "summer projects" are getting out of control!

Patrick and Mike learned how to build a chicken coup. in the hopes that we would build one similar. This is the Cadillac of chicken coups. It has storage space, it's on wheels, and really easy to clean out! Our newest chicken Bradon is the cutest!
We had a really good Mother's day! (I personally think everyday for me is Mother's Day!!) My Mom was out of town so last weekend I took her to see The 3 Musketeers at Hale Theatre (Patrick was grateful to get out of that one.. but I think he would have liked it) It was really good and fun to see, and spend time with My Mom!
Patrick and I went on a date on Saturday night to see Iron Man on the Mammoth screen at Thanksgiving Point. It was so fun, I was worried it wouldn't be as good but Iron Man won't let me down! Then on Sunday morning Patrick made a delicious breakfast, we had Patrick's parents come over because we had SO much food, and it was Mother's day! We had a bbq at Michelle & Tracy's house. It was really nice to just hang out and not worry about a thing!
