Swiss Days

On Saturday morning I really wanted to go to Swiss Days. Patrick was fishing with Brandon which was perfect because I know Patrick would rather cut off another finger than go. My Mom was sweet enough to meet me at the mouth of Provo Canyon. I had to wait for just a minute for my Mom so I decided to check out the Story Telling Festival. Did you know it is $40 per person or $100 per family!! I thought it sounded like fun until I found out the price. Well my Mom and I enjoyed the beautiful scenery up the canyon and got to Midway. It was SO crowded. I wished I would have thought about bringing the child carrier because pushing that stroller was a joke.
Garrison was really good at first watching all the people and all the commotion, but then he really wanted to push the stroller (he LOVES to push anything and everything!) We let him where we could but he had a melt down when we stopped. We wanted to get a Swiss (Navajo) Taco but the lines were super long so we went to the Relief Society booth and got some really good Swiss bread. All the money is donated to the Missionary Fund. On our way out I got G.K. a sucker and he was in heaven!

On the way out I remembered I had my camera so I took just a few pics of Midway because I just love it there.

Balloon Festival

Last weekend we went up to Star Valley Wyoming to see the Balloon festival. We got there a little late and then we stayed up late chatting with Jason and his family! Then we got up at 6:00 A.M. to see the balloons... but there weren't any balloons so I went running. When I got back everyone was at the GaudyMaude festival. It was so much fun! There was bingo and a really old man singing a bunch of sad songs (it was Patrick's Grandpas best friend). There were a lot of booths with everything from puppies to jewelry to osteoperosis medicine. My highlight was the horse-shoe competition. It was awesome. patrick and I did pretty good, we took 4th the first round. Then Jason and Patrick's Dad took 3rd the second round.

On Sunday they were able to get the balloons up. It was so cool. We were able to sit on the back deck and watch them.  The wind blew them literally right in Jason's back yard.

There was a balloon that was just a few houses down so we walked over and they gave us some rides. It was amazing how smooth a ride it was. G.K. even got in.

We went back to the GaudyMaude festival and tried to climb the rock wall -the only one who made it to the top was Quenton!  But we all gave it a try. We played some Bingo and I won twice, Jason won, and so did Vicke! We played more horse shoes and ate a lot of food! It is definitely a must for next year too!

Salt Lake County Fair

On Saturday we went to the Salt Lake County Fair. There weren't too many people there and they had a lot of stuff. We wanted to go watch some horse racing but it was $20. per person! But there were a lot of animals to see. We saw: pigs, ponies, cows, bunnies of all kinds, birds of all kinds, kangaroos, and wallabies! It was fun to look at the prize winning quilts and vegetables and pictures. The prize winning food didn't look that good after sitting out for a couple of days but it was a blast!
