5th in Lewiston

I think we invited ourselves up to Lewiston this year! It is SO much fun and it's tradition (although I do want to try out Lander one year too!). We woke up the kids and packed them in the car, we hoped GK would fall back asleep because he'd been out so late all weekend, but not a chance. We got there JUST in time.

The parade was awesome, not too long but TONS of candy! All the girls on the floats were beautiful, Anthony hooked up GK with a shirt that would fit the poor kid.
(I had made GK & Bentley matching shirts w/o trying them on. Gk's said it was a 2T/3T, well he was sporting his bare midriff! Lesson learned!)
We went to the carnival and waited 45 minutes (I'm sure I'm exaggerating) for a pony ride.
GK Loved it!
Then we went to the red, white, & blue party. It was a blast & there was so much good food. GK had a blast in all the blow up toys & balls. Bentley slept the whole time!

Jenn & Patrick tried to teeter totter, but she's no match for Patrick so Brandon hopped on to help and we all heard some cracking of the wood and Patrick was off that thing before you could say "Liberty"!
We all headed back to Anthony & CeCille's for a much needed nap. Even Yogi took a nap.
Then on our way out of town we stopped at the farm to give Trevor his birthday present and check out the cows. Gk was so funny. Brandon took him into the pregnant cow place and GK was "casting the demons out". The were totally shy of a little 2 year old boy! We walked over and saw som
e more cows and some horses too.
But I think GK's favorite part of the farm was when Garrick brought out the tractor. I wasn't sure how he would do. He loves to look at them but he gets kinda scared. Brandon went with him and said he loved it. GK cried and ran after it when Garrick was putting it away.
Thanks Hall family for putting up with us again! We just love your family!

Riverton Parade

On the 2nd of July we needed to get out of the house so we went with Jenn & Brandon to the Riverton parade. We walked down there, it wasn't very far. It was so nice to have all of us there with the busy roads. GK was really happy to be out! Brandon showed him how to get candy, and there was a boy that would give GK all his candy. That kid was all "hopped up" on sugar. He had a lot of fun. Patrick took care of Bentley. He had her in the shade the whole time and was still worried about her getting sunburned. It was really cute. We headed back a little early, GK had too much candy and the parade was super long. It was good practice for the Lewiston parade.

On Saturday night after the baptism we went to the fireworks in Riverton. We wanted to see how well GK liked them because he loved them from far away. He was a little scared, he liked my hands over his ears but he would clap and say "Yay" for some of them. It was nice to be right under them.

Bluffdale Towndays

Lyndsey talked everyone into going out to the Bluffdale Towndays this year and it was so much fun. We thought we'd only stay for the parade (which was a blast) but there was so much to do that looked like fun we had to stick around. Patrick's aunt Nancy and his cousin Lily and grandma Pat came too. Patrick had to work though. Gk wasn't really into the candy throwing like I thought he'd be. He really liked sitting on the chairs throwing a ball into the cup holder.. go figure!
After the parade we went to the playground to play and right by the playground was a huge pile of sand for kids to play in, complete with buried prizes. Gk had fun and we had to pry him away. There werew tons of bouncy house places that he had a lot of fun on too. and everything was free. Except the pony rides but that was really super cheap too. Patrick got a pic on his phone I'll have to get. But more than all that, people were so nice. A lady gave Gk her balloon and told us about the bouncy house. Another lady told us about crafts and it was just nice to be around super nice people.
We wanted to stay for the rodeo, but gK really needed a nap. Everyone else went and had a ball! Hopefully next year we'll make it.

Fabulous Fourth!

Wow! We had quite the 4th weekend. Jenn and Brandon were SO nice to invite us up to Lewiston to celebrate the 4th with them in the "HomeTown" Way! We were able to use Brandon's parents pop-up trailer, so we hitched up the rig and were on our way to Lewiston Utah. (which is about 20 miles north of Logan ;>) The drive was great, G.K. slept the whole way. When we got there we got all set up and went for a tour of the Lewiston State Bank. It is really cool I think we need to set up a savings account for G.K. there. Then we hit the only store and bought some candy -not like we needed it. On the way back to Jenn's parents house Brandon and Patrick both got their hair cut from the "barber" he is the only one in town who cuts hair, and he sure cuts it. They came out better looking than when they went in, even Vaughn thought so! Then we played and Jenn's mom cooked some really good lasagna.  We had Trevor's birthday party. Trevor turned 3 and is so adorable! He loves farming.. farm tractors, farm animals, even farm poop! He had us "city folk" cracking up!

Then we woke up bright and early for the Lewiston 5k border fun run. It was a lot of fun (sorry no pictures I really should have taken my camera). After the guys went to the fireman's breakfast and Jenn and I went back to get ready. We headed out to the parade and Lewiston did not disappoint! They had some really cute ponies and lots of royalty but they had the most candy I've ever seen! Patrick had caught a frisbee and had to use it to block the candy that was being pelted at us! G.K. really liked the parade but he was plum-tuckered out! Towards the end of the parade I walked him to the end of the street and he was out cold!
But then it was time for the carnival! There were a lot of fun booths and a lot of the food smelled really yummy. Jenn got some cotton candy and Brandon took G.K. down the slide. Patrick's favorite was the fireman hosing off the crowd. It was warm but not that warm!

Then we headed to Jenn's Aunt and Uncle's house which is the mecca for the 4th! For real there were so many fun attractions there (the potatoes were delish!) They had a pinata, 3 water/jump blow-up really big toys, 2 pools, water guns, and a lot more too! Brandon and Courtney got into a water fight with the boys and Brandon ended up with a black eye.
We were all exhausted. I think everyone took a nap. Patrick, G.K., and I all slept for about 3 hours that afternoon. When we woke up everyone was playing on the swings and trampoline. You can see G.K.'s smile looks just like Patrick's!
We went to the softball game and saw how awesome everyone in Lewiston. Jenn's cousins Becca and Vanessa and they are really really good. It was fun to watch. Then we went back to Jenn's parents to watch the fireworks and it was awesome. G.K. really liked them too I thought he would be scared but he did fall asleep. Wow what a day! I love that his first 4th of July was in Lewiston!
On Sunday we went to Sacrament meeting and then ate and left. We were so spoiled by Jenn's Mom CeCille, all weekend she fed us such good food. It was all so yummy I don't know how she does it. I feel like such a moocher but she and Anthony both were so hospitable. They are the salt of the earth.

Saratoga Splash

Saratoga springs had their big town days this past weekend. It was so much fun! There was a 5k I ran through but I wanted to run further so I didn't sign up for it... but I think next year I will. It was a lot of fun! We went to Joel McHale on Friday night. It was really funny. He is a comedian who has a show on the E channel called The Soup. The first comedian wasn't very funny but Joel made up for it. Saratoga Springs had a boat parade that night that I wanted to go to. Hopefully we can go next year. But our little city had a parade! I don't think they've ever had one before and it went right in front of our neighborhood! It was a lot of fun! G.K. didn't quite get it but I was glad to do a test run before the big Lewiston 4th of July parade so he knows how to smile big for more candy! :D

The Riverton Parade

Patrick wanted to stay home and work on the shed this holiday weekend, but I really wanted to go to a parade.  Patrick said we could go to the Riverton parade, Sam at work (my Gardener) has a pretty sweet set up because his Dad lives about 4 houses from where the parade starts. So we sat with the Websters and boy do they know how to do a parade~
This is Sierra and she was the parade queen. Sierra and her brother Dallin got everything. I mean everything, t-shirts, otter pops, full sized candy bars. It was amazing! The best was they were not greedy at all. Sierra gave me all the Tootsie Rolls because they are my fav, and I can't bend over so well any more. She was very sweet.
Heather and Kade also came to the parade. It was fun to hang out with them. Kade is really good at sports. He had Patrick and Sam very impressed. I think they were both really trying to keep up with him. It was really nice going to a parade at night rather than in the morning. The weather was just right! I did miss going to Lewiston, maybe next year though. I think I heard Casper's calling my name.
