Bear Lake

Last Friday We went with The Muirs to Brigham City so we could eat at Maddox. We ate a lot of food, it was SO Yummy! Then we went for a little tour of the town. On Saturday stopped in Logan for a sack Lunch from the Old Grist Mill and headed up to Bear Lake! We just parked on the free beach, cause we were only staying for a few hours. We had a lot of fun. We brought the kayak and a frisbee and we were set. Our lunches were delicious but I think G.K. ate more sand than food. He loves to play in the sand and water. He was having so much fun he didn't want to get out. We could all play frisbee and he would just dig in the sand. He does like to stick his face in the water, and the sand.

We played until we were all sunburned then we drove to Lewiston. Jenn's sister was having a bridal shower so me and the boys went to Olive Garden and Sam's Club. We picked up Jenn and went to Casper's (The Fat Boy Factory) for some ice cream. On Sunday we all slept in a little and drove home. It was such a fun weekend! I want to go to Bear Lake again!

Kortni

Kortni came and stayed with us for a few days to do some school clothes shopping. We really had a lot of fun, we went to 7 Peaks, Gateway, and a bunch of stores. She was a good sport putting up with me the whole time. We had like 45 minutes to kill and I really wanted to try Lyndsey's camera out because I want a new one. Lyndsey is really good at posing people, we make quite the team! I didn't touch up any of these pics. Kortni is such a babe! Thanks for staying with us Kort!

Balloon Festival

Last weekend we went up to Star Valley Wyoming to see the Balloon festival. We got there a little late and then we stayed up late chatting with Jason and his family! Then we got up at 6:00 A.M. to see the balloons... but there weren't any balloons so I went running. When I got back everyone was at the GaudyMaude festival. It was so much fun! There was bingo and a really old man singing a bunch of sad songs (it was Patrick's Grandpas best friend). There were a lot of booths with everything from puppies to jewelry to osteoperosis medicine. My highlight was the horse-shoe competition. It was awesome. patrick and I did pretty good, we took 4th the first round. Then Jason and Patrick's Dad took 3rd the second round.

On Sunday they were able to get the balloons up. It was so cool. We were able to sit on the back deck and watch them.  The wind blew them literally right in Jason's back yard.

There was a balloon that was just a few houses down so we walked over and they gave us some rides. It was amazing how smooth a ride it was. G.K. even got in.

We went back to the GaudyMaude festival and tried to climb the rock wall -the only one who made it to the top was Quenton!  But we all gave it a try. We played some Bingo and I won twice, Jason won, and so did Vicke! We played more horse shoes and ate a lot of food! It is definitely a must for next year too!

Going Hiking?

On Tuesday I really wanted to go hiking! I was getting a little stir crazy thinking about how fast summer was going by so we loaded up and went up to Little Cottonwood Canyon. GK had fallen asleep so I figured I'd take Wasatch Blvd. because it's so pretty and he'd get a little longer nap in. I saw a sign for Rocky Mouth (I think) trail head and decided to give it a try. I took a few pics of GK and we headed up.
It was a super short hike to this beautiful waterfall. The trail was a little hard to find because you walk up a residential road for a minute. We only stayed for a minute because some people were repelling into the waterfall (please Patrick can we??). And I decided that I wanted to go to Gardner Village and get some more pictures of GK because he was being so good!

I just think he is growing up so fast! He looks like such a little boy!

Salt Lake County Fair

On Saturday we went to the Salt Lake County Fair. There weren't too many people there and they had a lot of stuff. We wanted to go watch some horse racing but it was $20. per person! But there were a lot of animals to see. We saw: pigs, ponies, cows, bunnies of all kinds, birds of all kinds, kangaroos, and wallabies! It was fun to look at the prize winning quilts and vegetables and pictures. The prize winning food didn't look that good after sitting out for a couple of days but it was a blast!

VinHagen

All we were missing was GK's coon skin cap
There is nothing like a little ping pong John Wayne style!
Things can fall out of a baby backpack, who would have guessed?
Looking over the pond at VinHagen was very romantic until GK poops his pants!
GK finds love out camping. At least it wasn't a family reunion!!!
We wanted to trade this in for the government rebate but they wouldn't give us the full 4500
It was nice to get the family portrait out of the way for the year.
The Hilbilly hot tub was a hit. What happens in the hot tub stays in the HOT TUB.
The girls liked bathing in the not so Hilbilly hot tub. I stuck to the Lake.

If you ever wanted to know where Wyatt Earp used to spend his summers well here it is.
